Denholm Zholdas Attend KIOGE Exhibition
The Denholm Oilfield Services team played an absolute blinder and pulled off a great performance in making the DOS presence felt at the 2006 KIOGE Conference exhibition which took place in October in Kazakhstan's largest city, Almaty. They are now working on a number of excellent new business leads as a result of the show.
Kazakhstan has developed into a hugely significant country in the global oil and gas industry and KIOGE plays an important role for key decision makers, suppliers and buyers as they seek to find solutions to development issues and partners for future business.
Mobilising the team
Our Yeovil, Aberdeen and Kazakhstan teams took responsibility for most of the logistics surrounding our actual presence at this important show. Travel management issues had to be resolved - getting flights, visas and accommodation sorted for seven people all arriving from different directions and researching giveaways, X-boxes and props. The team had just 22 days to make it all happen!
Show gets on the road
The whole exhibition stand kit was packed and shipped out some three weeks before the event. Once on site, the team had three days to build the stand, despite the non-arrival of one major graphic which had to be personally delivered by an employee travelling from the UK, just in the nick of time.
Going live
This was to be the largest ever KIOGE exhibition, with almost 500 exhibitors from 40 countries showcasing their products and services. On the first day, the show opened at 10am and our stand was completed and fully staffed - it looked great! Everyone worked together brilliantly on what was probably the busiest stand of the whole show. Four days later, it was all over - apart from the packing up and shipping out.
The exhibition resulted in a number of leads, two of which are very promising and the Kazakhstan team are following up.
