Further Expansion - New Office Opens in Almaty, Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan and the Caspian Region continues to present vast business opportunities and the highly successful progress Denholm Zholdas have made in the region is demonstrated in the setting up of an office in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the cultural and commercial centre of Central Asia.
The office is run by Shozey Jafferi (Head of Business Development), an experienced expatriate since early 2003 who was the Commercial Attaché at the British Embassy Kazakhstan. Shozey brings in extensive knowledge of the market and high calibre commercial contacts. He is helped by a well qualified Business Development Manager, Murat Zhunusov.
The Almaty office provides market intelligence for DZ management on business development, develops working relationships with potential clients and promotes our strong reputation. The office is playing an important role in keeping abreast of latest economic developments and establishment of linkages with appropriate international and local companies.
The Caspian is currently dominated by six major projects investments - Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan in Kazakhstan, Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and Shakh Deniz in Azerbaijan and the Severnyi block in Russia. Together they contain about 27 billion bbls, or 68% of the region’s total liquid reserves.
The combination of the new office, contacts and team along with known potential for work in Kazakhstan, should prove a winning combination as we look towards the future.
