Massive sub-contract nears completion

Back in the summer of 2007, Archirodon Construction (Overseas) Co. S.A. awarded a $6 million sub-contract to Denholm YAM Contracting Company LLC in Abu Dhabi.

The contract incorporated fabrication, construction engineering, fabrication, painting and load-out of 2,800 metric ton super structural steel modules and platforms for the massive Ruwais 3rd NGL Train Project under construction for client Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (GASCO).

The 3rd NGL Train at Ruwais has been designed to process an additional 24,400 tons per day (TPD) of natural gas liquids (NGL) produced from OGD-III, AGD-II and other projects, and to produce about 6,400 TPD of raw ethane for transfer to the petrochemical plant at Ruwais (Borouge), 6,000 TPD each of propane and butane and 5,800 TPD of pentane plus products.

The project commenced in the autumn of 2007, when Denholm YAM had around 200 employees. The company has consistently brought in new personnel, to service this and other contracts which have been undertaken under extreme pressure, especially considering that construction has continued at our own ICAD (Industrial City of Dubai) facility in parallel to these contracts.

Currently Denholm YAM now has in excess of 500 employees, and the project will be completed in June. This is a tremendous achievement by the Denholm YAM team, on which they are all to be congratulated.
