Having recently renewed our sponsorship with Glasgow Warriors, Denholm Oilfield Services attended the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity’s first ever ‘Big Quiz of the Year’ held on Friday 17th September at the Grand Central Hotel.
We pulled together a team of 11 consisting of three Glasgow Warriors and Scottish Internationalists; Huw Jones, Ruaridh Jackson, Tim Swinson, and seven staff members; Martin Clark, Martin McGhee, Matthew Hughes, Rona Darroch, Nicole McClement, Chris Johnstone, Hannah Stakes and our Glasgow Warriors partnership account manager Alistair Hamilton.
Although the Quiz performance failed to live up to the Glasgow Warrior’s standards, the team had a wonderful time in the name of a great cause and we were thrilled to find out that event raised in excess of £15,000 for the charity!
Money raised by Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity is used towards enhanced equipment and services at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow to ensure that the young patients and their families receive the best possible care and treatment. Projects include; investment in latest medical equipment, research, family support services and innovative play programmes. All of these initiatives enhance the care of the 168,000 babies, children and young people treated each year at the hospital.
As previously announced Denholm Oilfield Services have recently set up a Corporate Social Responsibility Committee which is charged with bringing initiatives and ideas to ensure that each of our subsidiaries give back to the local communities in which we operate. We are anticipating that some great ideas will be brought to the table in the coming months.
Congratulations to Glasgow Childrens’ Hospital Charity for hosting such a fantastic event!
