Petrasco wins rig contract

Petrasco Energy Services have won a contract with drilling and engineering contractor, KCA Deutag, to transport the T-210 mobile land drilling rig from Nizwa, Oman to Southern Iraq.

The complex move involves transporting the 14,000 cbm unassembled rig from Nizwa, Oman via Duqm Port, Oman to to Umm Qasr, Iraq and onwards to the clients drilling site in Southern Iraq.

In this case Petrasco’s remit covers:

  • the coordination of load out from origin point
  • transportation to the loading port including chartering a suitable vessel, negotiating all port charges and the entire documentation to include customs clearance and import documentation
  • the Iraqi port handling and onward trucking to the remote desert rig site

In addition Petrasco are negotiating and overseeing all port charges, the chartering of a suitable vessel, and the entire documentation services to include import documentation and customs clearance also.

Managing Director Kevin Buchan commented: “Obviously this is an international operation across multiple jurisdictions. Making sure it can be achieved compliantly, smoothly, on time and on budget is what Petrasco do.”
